retirement residence of Diocletian, the term can be misleading as the structure
is massive and more resembles a large fortress. The Palace is one of the most
famous and complete architectural and cultural features on the Croatiancoast. As
the world's most complete remains of a Roman palace, it holds an outstanding
place, European and world heritage. Next you will visit the ancient town of Trogir which is a small island town 30
km away from from Split. Trogir is beautifully
set within medieval walls, its streets as an unique Dalmatian town for its
majestic collection of Romanesque and Renaissance architecture under Venetian
